Michigan Collaborative Professionals of Greater Kalamazoo

2009

Last year was a good first year for us. Collaborative Professionals of Greater Kalamazoo has enjoyed an increase in membership, with 3 new practitioners being trained. However, none of our new members were coaches, so we are striving to encourage local mental health professionals to become trained. The CPIM scholarship will help us achieve that goal for next year. In addition, this year we developed brochures and distributed them at several presentations in the local area, including Downtown Kiwanis, and a public presentation which was held at the Portage Public Library, and attended by 25 local sources of influence. As we look forward to 2010, we want to complete our website, and find a new mental health professional to serve as a coach. The challenge for us continues to be involving the mental health professionals as economically challenged couples struggle to see the value of collaborative divorce.
