David J. Deeg
David J. Deeg, Esq. is a licensed attorney and member of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Deeg has dedicated his legal career exclusively to the representation of individuals in family law cases. Mr. Deeg is passionate about helping individuals find solutions to family conflicts and finding the best way to accomplish his clients\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' goals in what are often complicated, case-specific, and challenging situations. Mr. Deeg serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Collaborative Institute of Michigan. Mr. Deeg received the Rising Star award by SuperLawyers in 2019 (an award based on peer review and extended to less than 2.5% of attorneys practicing in Michigan).
Mr. Deeg earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Theory, Ethics, and Globalization from the University of Michigan, where he served on the prestigious Committee on Labor Standards and Human Rights. He attended Wayne State University Law School on a full academic scholarship and earned his juris doctor, cum laude. While a student, Mr. Deeg clerked with the Honorable Bernard A. Friedman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Judge Friedman is best known for his March 21, 2014 opinion striking down the State of Michigan\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s constitutional and statutory bans on same-sex marriage.
In his spare time, Mr. Deeg enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, visiting art galleries, and finding new restaurants. He also loves spending time in the Traverse City area with family.
